This interactive piece takes on three different forms: a website, a road sign, and a magnetic poetry kit. The steel sign shows a map of the southeast US, spanning from Virginia upwards all the way to the state that sits between Alabama and Louisiana. From shame and discontentment to nostalgia, the magnetic poetry kit contains a collection of 100+ words deriving from various references, emotions, and experiences I have attached to where I’m from.
The magnetic words from the kit can be arranged on the map, inviting people to bring in their own interpretations to the collection. The corrugated plastic sign affixed below mimics a bandit sign, luring users to access a survey. This website generates a customized poetry kit centered around the users’ ideas of home. The words entered from the responses can then be shifted and rearranged to form new meanings and thoughts around the concept of home and belonging. This digital experience emulates much of what went into making the physical poetry kit and map.

Scales of Indifference (2024 – 2025)
Graphic Design Open Call Exhibition co-curated with Jenna Casey at The Anderson
Born out of passion, this ongoing collaborative venture began as an opportunity to showcase an underrepresented discipline in a fine arts space. Our work on this show involved months of research, organization, and collaboration to develop an exhibition of works from designers that reflected upon unique experiences of time. The submissions were juried by Lauren Thorson, nicole killian, and Herdimas Anggara—faculty in the Department of Graphic Design at VCUarts.
The final show exhibited the works of 15 students in the Graphic Design program From September 20 – October 11, 2024. Recently, Jenna and I were awarded with an Undergraduate Research Grant from VCUarts to pursue developing an exhibition catalogue that'll detail the curatorial process and development of the exhibition. This project is set to be finalized by Summer 2025.
Some of my work involved in the show is the development of print materials for advertising and design of the exhibition identity. I developed the letterpress and risograph-printed posters and the exhibition wall vinyl. Photos of exhibition by Jerry Pleasant III.

Richmondsmell.com is a multimedia web and print-based project made in Herdimas Anggara's Fall 2024 PLATFORM SABOTAGE Class. Tasked with generating a satirical conspiracy theory, similar to the Birds Aren't Real campaign, this multimedia project uses outrageous rhetoric, falsified online resources, and even a form for users to submit 'odor reports' to create an immersive online world around a mysterious phenomenon in the city of Richmond, VA.
Flyers with mysterious contents relating to the described 'odor' were posted around campus, causing one online user to post images of the mysterious postings on the reddit page for Richmond, VA. Ever since, Richmond residents report various instances of odors floating around the city, becoming an inside joke for many residents online.
Initially pinning the source of this odor on the 'PhlegmMorrisUS' cigarette production facility just south of the city, submissions from local residents of various odors have stretched the satirical timeline of this project to new lengths. In a world of misinformation and conspiracies flying around the internet at unimaginable speeds, this project seeks to subvert these challenges by using the language of outrageousness and deception to find a sense of humor and bonding in the midst of all the chaos.

Vape Shop Front (2024)
Chrome Extension
A chrome extension that turns practically any website into a vape store front made as a final project for Herdimas Anggara's Fall 2024 PLATFORM SABOTAGE Class.
Why, you ask? Why not? Malicious and obnoxious in nature, this extension integrates itself to the innerworkings of each website it visits, randomly generating flashy signs and flags. The faux-LED strips highlight random div elements on the site, exposing hidden structures and imperfections in the unique design of each site.

Collections Poster (2023)
Inkjet on A0 Matte Paper with embossings, collection of 200 typeless icons
This project recontextualizes indexical and symbol-based hazard iconography by altering the context in which these universal pictographs are presented. The collection is shaped by the concept of Symbols and Indexes from Charles Sanders Peirce’s Semiotic theory. The safety pictograms are image and context-based, which are crucial for their purpose, ensuring they remain recognizable and readable.
The poster, A1-sized with a matte white exterior, features intricate raised designs on two folds. Upon closer inspection, embossed safety pictographs of varying sizes and sharp, round dotted patterns accompany the icons. Opening the folds reveals an A0-sized display showcasing the full collection. Red and blue, two key colors from the collection, dominate the design along with gridded pictographs. These are paired with complex motifs referencing hazard iconography. The subtle exterior contrasts with the bold interior, together shifting the interpretability of the hazard pictographs.

A moldy shower curtain liner installation that challenges VCU's updated posting policy in the wake of Pro-palestinian postings. Ugly, unsubtle, unsettling, and purposefully neglected to address seemingly invisible issues.
